February’s Black History Month gives additional emphasis to ponder the state of racial tensions in America. Yet, the president of a Christian university in New York says a study of American history points to a lot of progress, despite what he calls “the colorful lessons” we all have learned – or need to learn.  These lessons still can put into practice, as we speak our own stories, and listen attentively to others’ personal stories..

Doctor Wayne Lewis of Houghton University returns to Family Life to offer his perspectives on racism in America, plus the ways God has been at work – through, because of, and despite past and current problems.

President Lewis also offers a very personal perspective, remember his grandparents’ generation, and how he talks with his young daughter about African-American history and progress that has vastly improved race relations.
